Meditation Classes
We invite and welcome every person interested in adopting Mindfulness Practices into their daily schedule.
What we Offer
La Ronge Enkyoji offers various Meditation classes. At the moment all the classes are exclusively offered online through Zoom. Mindfulness meditation originates from Buddhist teachings and it is the most popular meditation technique in the West. This program draws on more than 750-years of history in Nichiren Shu Buddhism as well as the 2500-year tradition of Buddhism as a whole. It fits however well with any lifestyle or spiritual belief system.
Calming your Mind
Refocusing yourself
Energizing Yourself
In mindfulness meditation, you pay attention to your thoughts as they pass through your mind. You don’t judge the thoughts or become involved with them. You simply observe and take note of any patterns. This practice combines concentration with awareness. You may find it helpful to focus on an object or your breath while you observe any bodily sensations, thoughts, or feelings.
Think of this practice as an exercise for general well-being to taste the preciousness of life. If your well-being increases, the total well-being of this world also increases. This is a very important concept in Nichiren Shu Buddhism.
I’m A Beginner. What Class Should I Start With?
Beginners are recommended to start with the La Ronge Enkyoji class Beginner Meditation. It is essential to start practicing mindfulness meditation correctly from the beginning on to prevent what is called “meditation sickness”. Learning meditation that is right for your body and mind will help you understand the benefits of mindfulness meditation in notime.

Shodaigyo Plus Reiki
Guided Meditation for Seasonal Support
This three part guided meditation series combines the Japanese practices of Shodaigyo and Reiki for added support and wellness to assist us while we transition into the coming season. A current or previous practice with Shodaigyo meditation is helpful for your participation in this meditation series. Each meditation will be a lunar month apart and time zones will change through this practice except for those of us living in Saskatchewan. Krista has practiced the Japanese healing art of Reiki since 2005 and with a light-hearted spirit, will guide and practice with you while combining the Japanese traditional practices of Shodaigyo and Reiki.
La Ronge Enkyoji promotes compassion through meditative and mindfulness experiences in various ways that are inspired by Nichiren shu Buddhism, and is welcoming to all.
