The Purpose
La Ronge Enkyoji Cultural Centre Inc. is a Nichiren Shu Buddhism temple (sangha). It is founded on the principles outlined in the Lotus Sutra for the purpose of worshiping Shakyamuni Buddha who is none other than the embodiment of the Eternal Buddha, as well as following the great example of Nichiren Shonin, by communicating the Lotus Sutra, relieving poverty, distress and human suffering of all kinds, and propagating the Nichiren Shu Buddhist faith.
Nichiren Shu Creed
The La Ronge Enkyoji Cultural Centre Inc. has adopted the creed of all Nichiren School practitioners:
- We consider the Lotus Sutra as personally experienced by Nichiren Shohin as the standard of our lives.
- Shakyamuni Buddha who has been trying to save all the people from time immortal is the true teacher.
- Namu Myoho Renge Kyu is a vow to cultivate the Buddha nature within us and to build the land of the Buddha. We consider him our teacher and try to achieve that goal.
- Nichiren Shonin made a vow to cultivate the Buddha nature of all and build a land of the Buddha. We consider him our teacher and try to achieve the goal.
- We will always be aware that we are the Buddha’s children and will live together with all the people in search of the truth.
Ancillary
The La Ronge Enkyoji Cultural Centre Inc. has adopted the creed of all Nichiren School practitioners:
- To conduct regular services or meetings for the purpose of the worship of the Eternal Buddha, prayer, guidance and instruction in the Buddhist faith, doctrine and other related activities.
- To perform pastoral and missionary work and carry on other similar activities.
- To carry on specialized ministries and programs, on a basis consistent with the objects described in paragraph (a) (See Exhibit A), directed to a specific group of individuals, including without limitation, children, teenagers, single parents, families, senior citizens, and other specialized groups.
- To establish, operate, maintain, and manage, on a basis consistent with the objects set out in paragraph (a), programs and facilities for educational or recreational and cultural purposes, or for other similar purposes.
- To provide and maintain buildings, premises or other facilities for the purpose of carrying out the objects otherwise described in this paragraph.
La Ronge Enkyoji promotes compassion through meditative and mindfulness experiences in various ways that are inspired by Nichiren shu Buddhism, and is welcoming to all.
